Frequently Asked Questions

Why do we need to build a new outdoor BBQ kitchen?

Due to easement restrictions from the Water District, Saratoga Woods Community Association (SWCA) needs to move its fence line further onto our club grounds. Our BBQ kitchen will need to be demolished and a newly designed BBQ kitchen will need to be constructed on club grounds. The new outdoor BBQ kitchen will be located in the area between the flagpole and the basketball court which is currently a triangular, grassy area.

How much is being raised?
We have a goal to raise a minimum of $55,000. This will allow us to create a flexible solution for parties, swim meets, and key social events with three grilling stations, an island for serving (or gathering), and an overhead pergola. Additional donations will potentially allow us to fund the inclusion of community requested features, including a permanent gas grill and a potential sink. Any funds remaining at the completion of construction of this outdoor BBQ kitchen will be managed and directed by the SWCA board. Want to see how this amazing kitchen will look? See the Design page for more details.

How will the outdoor BBQ kitchen be paid for?

We are relying on the support of past and current SWCA members and neighbors to help us raise the necessary funds to replace the BBQ kitchen that has served us well for swim meets, club events, club rentals, and the occasional family poolside BBQ.

Who is involved in this project?

Under the direction of the SWCA board of directors, an ad hoc committee has worked together to draft a design for the BBQ kitchen and we anticipate that neighbors will handle most, if not all, of the construction of this project.

Who is handling the donations for this project?

Donations can be made directly to SWCA. Please make your donation via check to SWCA and write BBQ in the memo. Checks can be dropped off in the club mailbox or in the Greenlee swim folder. You can also Venmo @Janelle-Greenlee. More details can be found here

Are the donations tax-deductible?

No. SWCA's IRS status does not make donations tax-deductible, but you will be helping us complete the BBQ kitchen project! Thank you for your generous donations!
